Neighbourhood Commons
ARE GATHERING SPACES IN COMMUNITY’S WHICH FORM OR CREATE ACTIVITIES THAT CULTIVATE AND IMPACT A COMMUNITY’S SHARED LIFE
Spruhan Ave
Spruhan Av is our oldest and most established commons site. Initially built to house the Norlane Baptist Church in the 1930’s, Spruhan Av was adopted by Urban Seed Norlane (now NCI) in the early 2000’s as a gathering space for those in the local community.
Today, Spruhan Ave is undergoing a makeover to transform the historic into a purpose built Neighbourhood Hub. Our plans for the hub include -
An Urban Farm
Community Kitchen
Dining Hall
Community Cafe
Kids Play Area
Makers Space
Co-Working Office
It is anticipated the Spruhan Ave Neighbourhood Hub will begin development in 2022. Many thanks to our partners and supporters who are helping realise this dream. Particular thanks goes, Select Architects, Bisinella Developments, Cardno/TGM, Novo Planning, BSA Building Surveyors, ZeroC Architects, QC Chris Wren, Minter Ellison, Hamlan Homes, Percy Baxter Foundations Wellam Construction and the Baptist Union of Victoria.
